A Content Engine That Runs Without a Marketing Team: The International Hotel School, Gqeberha
One digital home, one hashtag, and a user-generated-content system built to keep producing on-brand output after the consultant leaves.
In one line: The G.O.A.T Group consolidated a fragmented campus social presence into a single strategic brand platform for The International Hotel School's Gqeberha campus, won executive sign-off and budget approval in the first contact session, and handed the campus a governance-grade UGC playbook that converts students, lecturers, alumni and parents into a permanent content workforce.

The Challenge
The Gqeberha campus carried the weight of a respected national name and almost none of its visibility. Several IHS accounts ran in parallel, splitting attention and leaving prospective students unsure where the official campus lived online. Durban and Johannesburg dominated the brand's public face, and locally, parents and applicants had little reason to rank IHS above cheaper alternatives because the campus rarely put its standard on display.
Two commercial assets sat unused. Graduate placements that could prove real career outcomes went unseen. A sponsor pool that stood to gain from BEE scorecard points and Section 18A tax deductions went unworked. The mid-year intake set a fixed deadline: visibility had to climb fast, and without a permanent marketing team on site.
The Solution
Two connected assets were delivered: a data-backed brand strategy that secured the mandate, and a UGC playbook that handed content production to the campus community itself.
The strategy, built on a Situation-Complication-Resolution framework, set one digital home for the campus and retired the accounts diluting it. A campus-specific hashtag, #IHSGQ, anchored discoverability. Positioning was benchmarked against @silwoodkitchen, an account already demonstrating what a polished hospitality presence looks like. A dual-path message ran under every asset: one line for students, a second for sponsors motivated by compliance and tax incentives. Content sat on three pillars, Storytelling, Personal and Authority, each piece built to the SNAP format of Story, Need, Answer, Proof, unified under one line: "Become World-Class. Start Here." The pitch won executive approval and budget sign-off within the first contact session.
Vendor sourcing removed the execution bottleneck most campus strategies fail on. The G.O.A.T Group identified, evaluated and contracted the videographers and photographers required to produce platform-ready assets across TikTok, Reels and Stories. Strategy without production capability produces no content.
The UGC playbook converted strategy into a self-service training and governance manual: a 3-Act short-video framework (Hook, Value, Payoff) drawn from Meta's own filming guidance, a technical filming checklist, a five-month prompt calendar that removes the blank-page problem, copy-paste caption templates that protect message consistency, and professional engagement guidelines giving staff an exact protocol for negative comments before they spread. The design principle is deliberate: brand impact at scale without centralised marketing control.

Transferable Principles
Fragmentation is a tax on brand equity; consolidation is the cheapest visibility gain available. Community-generated content outlasts any agency retainer when it ships with governance: prompts, templates and an escalation protocol. And a reduced-rate pilot with named week-six KPIs converts a sceptical executive into a sponsor, because it prices the proof, not the promise.
Capabilities demonstrated: brand strategy, go-to-market planning, content systems design, social media governance, UGC programme design, vendor sourcing and contracting, stakeholder buy-in, KPI framework design, sponsorship strategy.
